A Video Scan Format Conversation Algorithm Based onSpatio-temporal Weight and Edge Direction

Ding Yong,Lu Shengli,Shi Longxing

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 10,   Pages 49-54

Abstract:

De-interlace is to convert interlaced images to progressive ones.  In this paper,  a de-interlacing algorithm based on spatio-temporal weight and edge direction is presented.  It consists of motion detection,  low-angle edge detection,  and spatio-temporal weight adaptive interpolation.  It uses total 4 fields information captured in field storage to detect the presence of motion.  And it detects low-angle edge by an adaptive searching radius in which the 6°edge is obtained.  The proposed method using spatio-temporal adaptive interpolation can obtain quite good display quality and satisfies real-time process of HDTV sequences.

A pilot study on Paxlovid therapy for hemodialysis patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infections

Frontiers of Medicine doi: 10.1007/s11684-023-1011-0

Abstract: We aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (Paxlovid) therapy for hemodialysis-dependent patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Thirteen hemodialysis patients infected with the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 from April 3 to May 30, 2022, were recruited. Laboratory parameters and chest CT (computed tomography) imaging were analyzed. The treatment group included six patients who received 150 mg/100 mg of Paxlovid orally once daily for 5 days, whereas the control group included seven patients who received basic treatment. No serious adverse reactions or safety events were recorded. Four control patients progressed to moderate disease, and none in the treatment group showed progression of chest CT findings (P < 0.05). Paxlovid therapy tended toward early viral clearance and low viral load on Day 8. Moreover, 83.3% of the patients in the treatment group and 57.1% of the patients in the control group turned negative within 22 days. In the Paxlovid treatment group, we found significantly increased levels of lymphocytes (P=0.03) and eosinophils (P=0.02) and decreased levels of D-dimer on Day 8 compared with those on Day 1. Paxlovid therapy showed a potential therapeutic effect with good tolerance in hemodialysis patients. The optimal dose and effectiveness evaluation must be further investigated in a largeer cohort.

Statistical analysis of residential building energy consumption in Tianjin

Jihong LING,Luhui ZHAO,Jincheng XING,Zhiqiang LU

Frontiers in Energy 2014, Volume 8, Issue 4,   Pages 513-520 doi: 10.1007/s11708-014-0327-5

Abstract: To analyze the effect of energy conservation policies on energy consumption of residential buildings, the characteristics of energy consumption and indoor thermal comfort were investigated in detail in Tianjin, China, based on official statistical yearbook and field survey data. A comprehensive survey of 305 households indicates that the mean electricity consumption per household is 3215 kWh/a, in which annual cooling electricity consumption is 344 kWh/a, and the mean natural gas consumption for cooking is 103.2 m /a. Analysis of 3966 households data shows that space heating average intensity of residential buildings designed before 1996 is 133.7 kWh/(m ·a), that of buildings designed between 1996 and 2004 is 117.2 kWh/(m ·a), and that of buildings designed after 2004 is 105.0 kWh/(m ·a). Apparently, enhancing the performance of envelops is effective in reducing space heating intensity. Furthermore, the results of questionnaires show that 18% of the residents feel slightly warm and hot respectively, while 3% feel slightly cold in winter. Therefore, the electricity consumption in summer will rise for meeting indoor thermal comfort.

Study on Family Collection, Gene Mapping, Gene Identification and Gene Function of Human Genetic Diseases

Xia Jiahui

Strategic Study of CAE 2000, Volume 2, Issue 11,   Pages 1-11

Abstract:

In this paper, the study on family collection, gene mapping, gene identification and gene function of human genetic diseases carried out in the National Laboratory of Medical Genetics of China, were described in detail. Using G-banding technique a marker chromosome t (1; 3) (q44; p11) associated with nasopharyngeal cancer was found in 1975 at first, and human TDF gene was mapped to chromosome Yp11. 32 in 1981. Since 1991, 590 families with 345 kind of genetic diseases were collected. In 1998, GJB3, a human genetic neurological deafness gene, was identified using a novel strategy of “Gene Family-Candidate Disease Gene Cloning”,and the paper was published in Nature Genetics (20: 370). In 1999, by linkage analysis and Genome Wide Scanning, a locus responsible for disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP) was identified at Chromosome 12q23. 2 - 24. 1; and at the same year a novel protein trafficking gene was also cloned from gene function study.

Development Trends of Villages and Towns in China

Strategic Study of CAE 2019, Volume 21, Issue 2,   Pages 6-13 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2019.02.011

Abstract:

This paper attempts to explore the current characteristics and development trends of villages and towns in China through field research and large data analysis. Generally speaking, it is expected that China's villages and towns will continue three major development trends. First, urban and rural areas will coexist for a long time, with moderate rural agglomeration, and small towns are facing new development opportunities when experiencing decline. Second, it is expected that the urban and rural areas in the eastern, central, and western regions will agglomerate in different modes, and the differentiation trend within small towns will intensify. Third, with the transformation and upgrading of rural industries, many new functions and new formats will enter rural areas; Fourth, with the continuous improvement of rural economies, the supply of basic public services has become the focus of the construction of grass-roots villages and towns and will further affect the integration and reconstruction of the spatial pattern of villages and towns.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 3,   Pages 351-360 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000709

Abstract: Proprietary (or semi-proprietary) protocols are widely adopted in industrial control systems (ICSs). Inferring by reverse engineering is important for many network security applications, e.g., program tests and intrusion detection. Conventional protocol reverse engineering methods have been proposed which are considered time-consuming, tedious, and error-prone. Recently, automatical protocol reverse engineering methods have been proposed which are, however, neither effective in handling binary-based ICS protocols based on network traffic analysis nor accurate in extracting protocol fields from protocol implementations. In this paper, we present a framework called the industrial control system protocol reverse engineering framework (ICSPRF) that aims to extract ICS protocol fields with high accuracy. ICSPRF is based on the key insight that an individual field in a message is typically handled in the same execution context, e.g., basic block (BBL) group. As a result, by monitoring program execution, we can collect the tainted data information processed in every BBL group in the execution trace and cluster it to derive the . We evaluate our approach with six open-source ICS protocol implementations. The results show that ICSPRF can identify individual protocol fields with high accuracy (on average a 94.3% match ratio). ICSPRF also has a low coarse-grained and overly fine-grained match ratio. For the same metric, ICSPRF is more accurate than AutoFormat (88.5% for all evaluated protocols and 80.0% for binary-based protocols).
